Cellulite:
Cellulite is a troubling condition for many woman. It is caused by the collection of stubborn superficial fat pockets. Lipodissolver/injection lipolysis is frequently used for bodysculpting and treating stubborn areas of fat like cellulite on the anterior (front) and posterior (back) of the thighs. Cellulite appears with time and is caused by a collection of these fat pockets. With nonsurgical fat reducing lipodissolver the cellulite can be treated after several sessions. Usually combining this with microneedling can help tighten the skin and stimulate collagen.
Love Handles and Abdominal Fat:
Some of us have stubborn fat on the midsection of the body. Love handles, abdominal fat, and even collectionts of fat on the side of the thighs can appear with time. Even with diet and exercise sometimes we are left with stubborn superficial pockets of fat in these areas of the body. Lipodissolver can be used for bodysculpting in these areas to remove the fat that just won’t go away. After several sessions many patients will see noticeable results.
Arm Fat, Back and Bra line, Chest and Gynecomastia:
There are so many areas of the body that can benefit from bodysculpting with injection lipolysis. The key is to determine which areas the superficial fat is most troublesome, and then creating the right treatment plan. Several sessions are required, with some areas of the body needing more than others.
Jowls and Chin Fat:
Injection lipolysis helps to eliminate small deposits of fat in the face, like jowling/jowls. After several treatment sessions the fat deposits around the mouth and jowl region will noticeably reduce. Subcutaneous chin fat can also be treated with injectable treatment. Check out our webpage on Belkyra treatment.
Why Injection Lipolysis | Nonsurgical Fat Reduction:
There are many options for fat loss including diet, exercise, liposuction, radiofrequency, ultrasound therapy, and body contouring devices. Injection lipolysis with lipodissolver, however, is one of the most effective options for superficial fat loss. The procedure is also well tolerated, and avoids the pain, cost, and invasiveness of many of the other options.
Injection Lipolysis Downtime, Recovery and Side Effects
The chance of any severe issues or complications is minimal, however, all possible risks will be reviewed prior to your treatment. Fat Loss Treatment is a well-tolerated procedure, and the most common side effects are minimal.
Most commonly patients will have swelling post-treatment. This side effect happens in most cases and is temporary. Some bruising, itchiness, redness, and general mild discomfort can occur. After a few days, most side effects will settle. Some numbness or tingling can also be felt in the area of injection in rare cases. If this does occur, it will settle within two months.
We do recommend most patients get their treatments are done as close to the weekend, or time off from work so the swelling won’t be noticed by others.
Some patients also experience numbness or tenderness in the targeted area, in some cases for up to two months. The chance of more severe side effect is possible, and all treatment risks will be reviewed prior to injection.

Injection Lipolysis FAQ
What is Injection Lipolysis | Nonsurgical Fat Reduction?
Injections break down fat cell membranes. Once broken, the fat cell contents are easily digested by the body, resulting in permanently destroyed fat cells. After injecting lipodissolver for fat loss, your fat cells will begin to breakdown, leading to reduced superficial fat in the targeted region. This will refine and rejuvenate the targeted area.
What areas of the body can be treated for fat loss?
Love handles, abdominal fat, lateral thigh fat, cellulite, back and bra line fat, chest and gynecomastia fat, jowls and more.
Who Can’t Get Treatment?
Pregnant or breastfeeding women can not get treatment. Patients with severe medical conditions of the kidney and liver are also excluded from treatment. Patients with excessive skin and muscle laxity are not good candidates.
Is Fat Loss treatment safe?
All treatments do carry risk, however, risk is lower than that of a surgical procedure. And when done in the hands of an expert injector the risks are minimized. Our team will review all risks of treatment at your consultation. Rare complications can occur.
Is Injection Lipolysis treatment painful?
Most patients experience minimal discomfort.
What are the other options for treatment?
Options include: Doing Nothing, Surgical Procedures, Diet and Exercise
Complementary treatments that may be recommended: Botox, Fillers, Microneedling, Facials, Aquagold depending on the area of concern
What about loose skin?
Treatment will not address loose skin. Other treatments may be recommended to help complement injection lipolysis.
Is Lipodissolver right for me?
Every patient requires a consultation to determine if lipodissolver is an option for you. But if you suffer from stubborn, superficial fat then Lipodissolver injections may be a great non-surgical option. Even individuals that eat right and exercise hard may still find great difficulty in losing stubborn fat in some areas of the body.
What are fat loss injection lipolysis treatments like?
Treatment is quick, like all other injectable services at Kitchener Waterloo Cosmetic Clinic. Your treatment begins with a consultation with Dr. Dawood and staff. Your skin is cleansed and prepared with topical anesthetic to provide for a comfortable treatment. Afterwards your skin is marked for accuracy. Finally, a quick series of injections are performed into the fatty area beneath the chin. Most patients are in the office for about an hour, but actual injection time is less than 10 minutes. No incisions, no stitches!
How much does a treatment cost?
Price depends on the severity of the area treatment and number of sessions needed. No guarantees can be made on the success of the procedure, and no refunds will be processed for “lack of results”.
What is recovery like?
Most patients return to regular activities immediately post procedure. You should expect some swelling, tenderness, and bruising to the injection site for the first few days, and continued swelling for up to 2 weeks. Full results will take up to 4-8 weeks as your body needs time to process and metabolize the broken down fat cells.
How many treatments are required?
Number of treatments vary and depend on the level of correction desired and the specific area treated.
Are results permanent?
Results are indefinite as long as post-treatment guidelines are followed. Treatment destroys fat cells, however with improper diet new cells can grow. Targeted fat cells are destroyed permanently. To ensure proper metabolism of fat cells we require no excessively fatty/greasy foods or alcohol intake for 2 weeks post procedure. Injections will destroy fat cells, but with poor health new cells can grow to replace them. Excessive weight gain post treatment will also reverse or mask results. Follow a healthy diet plan, and exercise to maintain results.
How is Fat Loss Lipodissolver Injected?
After your consultation with Dr. Dawood your treatments can either proceed the same day, or we will book you back for your in-office procedure.
We advise all patients to limit alcohol and anti-inflammatory medications and supplements for 1 week prior to treatment. If you are on prescription medications you should NOT stop these before talking to either Dr. Dawood or your regular treating physicians.
Most patients return to regular daily activities after treatment. Some patients will notice some bruising and redness post-procedure. The majority of patients will also experience swelling at the injection site. This is normal, and we usually suggest patients book their treatments at the end of the week so they have a few days at home for the swelling to settle a bit.
The actual treatment involves application of a topical numbing cream, the use of a marking grid to guide the injections, and then the actual injections which are very tolerable. Most patients experience minimal discomfort. The actual treatment time is 15 – 20 minutes, and start to finish patients are out of the office in less than an hour. Applying ice right after treatment helps with the swelling.
Most patients are scheduled for a follow-up appointment in 4 weeks to re-assess and re-treat if needed.
Lipodissolver or Liposuction?
Why get Lipodissolver when I can get liposuction? A question asked by many patients!
Fat Loss Lipodissolver is NON-SURGICAL. No knives, No scalpels. This makes Lipodissolver an excellent choice for reducing fat over traditional liposuction or other surgical procedures. There are obviously some patients that are a better fit for surgery, however we advise all patients interested in treatment to visit us for a consultation to determine if treatment would be an alternative way to avoid the risks of surgery.
Results are not instant, and multiple treatments are typically needed. This is the case with any procedure, however, including surgical ones which can have extensive recovery periods. Liposuction also involves the use of a compression device and/or headgear, which results in extensive downtime for patients. With lipodissolver the downtime is minimal with only a few days of swelling.
At your consultation appointment our staff and Dr. Dawood will determine if you are a candidate for treatment, and if so will proceed with treatment the same day if it is your desire.
