Microneedling Kitchener Waterloo

An Effective Treatment for Acne, Large Pores, Scarring, Fine Lines, Wrinkles, Stretch Marks, Hyperpigmentation, Melasma and more.

Microneedling treatment has gained popularity in the past few years, and has established itself as a safe and effective way to both repair and rejuvenate the skin of the face and body.

During treatment, a handheld device with very tiny, and shallow needles is gently passed across the skin. These needles will create small micro punctures into the surface of the skin, which will trigger a healing response through collagen induction. The body’s skin will go into a repair and healing state in response to the microneedling.

Microneedling

A minimally invasive procedure that utilizes a device containing tiny microneedles that carefully pass over the skin at high speed. This process stimulates collagen production, leading to healthier, more youthful skin.

Microneedling can be applied to almost any area of skin, but the face and neck are the most common treatment areas. At Kitchener Waterloo Cosmetic Clinic we have various types of microneedling treatments, ranging from regular microneedling withour Eclipse MicroPen, to Aquagold Microchanneling, and finally Microneedling using Blood Growth Factors.

Microneedling is a safe procedure, with minimal risk, and can help improve a wide range of skin conditions including but not limited to Acne, Wrinkles, Rosacea, Melasma, Hyperpigmentation, Scarring, Stretch Marks, and more.

During a microneedling treatment, a topical anesthetic cream is applied prior to treatment to minimize discomfort, but the overall procedure is very well tolerated by most patients. The entire procedure takes 20-30minutes dependent on the number of areas treated.

Most patients have minimal redness post-procedure, which dissipates in a few days. And almost all patients return to regular daily activities immediately afterward.

Microneedling is a safe for the face or body, but the most common treatment areas are the face, neck, chest, and arms.

Reversing Aging

The Benefits of Microneedling

Microneedling is able to stimulate and induce the replenishment of collagen and elastin, which is a key factor in the aging process. Wrinkles, sun-induced damage, and aging skin are heavily caused by the loss of collagen and elastin. Also, with reduced collagen and elastin comes thinner, weaker, more age prone skin.

Microneedling at Kitchener Waterloo Cosmetic Clinic is an effective way to treat the general aging process, fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and other conditions such as scars, stretch marks, acne, rosacea. Microneedling works by stimulating a healing state in the skin. This triggers the body’s natural healing response. The treatment works by creating micro punctures into the skin; these micro-injuries will trigger the natural healing cycles of the body. Collagen and elastin production will help to fill lines and wrinkles, plump the skin, and treat acne and scarring, as well as shrink pore size, and leave the skin looking refreshed, and youthful.

Scar Improvement

Safe Established Technology

While all medical treatments and procedures carry risk, microneedling has established itself as a safe, and fairly low-risk procedure. Microneedling has the benefit of being very safe for all skin types. This is great for patients with dark skin tones, who are very prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation with other treatments, like lasers. Remember, microneedling is harnessing the body’s own natural healing process to tone, tighten, smooth, and treat the skin. It can produce natural-looking results, with a noninvasive treatment.

Microneedling treatments have been used to treat even scars. With treatment, some patients may find scars can fade due to the stimulation and breakdown of inappropriate collagen bundles in these scars. Microneedling is often paired with other scar treatment procedures we offer at Kitchener Waterloo Cosmetic Clinic.

Melasma and Hyperpigmentation

Treat Sun Damage and Pigmentation

Through collagen stimulation microneedling is able to help treat sun damage and pigmentation problems like melasma. Microneedling can help break up melanin within the skin. Some patients find the appearance of brown spots and pigment to improve. Microneedling is often combined with other treatments like Chemical Peels, Volite Skin Booster Injections or Growth Factors for optimal results.

Microneedling also helps to treat enlarged pores. With repeat treatments patients can notice smoother, more toned, and plump glowing skin.

During Microneedling treatment serums, vitamin complexes, and hyaluronic acid is applied to the skin. These serums help to enhance the effects of the treatment and nourish the skin.

Body Microneedling

Not Just For the Face. Stretch Marks, Body Scars, and More

Microneedling is not exclusively used for the face. At Kitchener Waterloo Cosmetic Clinic we have found results when treating other conditions such as stretch marks, body scars, acne, and more.

Because microneedling harnesses the body’s own natural healing mechanism the results are natural and rejuvenated skin. The tiny needles stimulate revascularization, collagen induction, and elastin replenishment. As collagen and elastin deposit, the skin will tighten.

How Does Microneedling Work?

Microneedling, Also Known as Collagen Induction Therapy.

Microneedling is an advanced treatment to treat fine lines, hyper-pigmentation, acne scars, stretch marks and signs of premature aging. It works by increasing collagen production in the skin. Treatments have minimal downtime and have natural-looking results!

Microneedling treatments, also known as collagen induction therapy, help to stimulate collagen, and elastin production in the skin. Using a device with 12 very fine needles, we can penetrate the upper layers of the skin and create small micro-channels in the tissue, this stimulates the body’s natural healing mechanisms to rejuvenate and restore the skin. Treatments are comfortable and virtually pain-free by using topical numbing creams.

Microneedling induces collagen and elastin production which helps to treat fine lines and wrinkles, skin laxity, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, stretch marks, and results in more youthful appearing skin. Treatments can be done to the face, neck, chest, and other parts of the body!

Don’t trust anyone with your treatments, trust Kitchener Waterloo Cosmetic Clinic and Dr. Rayhaan Dawood. Other treatments may also be recommended to complement your Microneedling treatment at Kitchener Waterloo Cosmetic Clinic, The premier cosmetic clinic and medical spa of Kitchener Waterloo. Dermal Fillers, Botox, Chemical Peels, Medical Grade Skincare, and other treatments may be advised.

Microneedling Variations:

Not every patient is the same, and the conditions and skin quality of every patient is unique. At Kitchener Waterloo Cosmetic Clinic we are able to customize and create a unique treatment plan and regiment for each and every patient.

Your visit to us begins with a consultation with either Dr. Dawood or one of our trained staff. We will advise you on the best treatment plan, and when it comes to microneedling, the specific type recommended. Each treatment is unique and offers various benefits.

Classical Microneedling:

This form of microneedling utilizes our 12 pin needle type microneedling device to induce high speed micro channels into the skin. This induces collagen and elastin to repair and rejuvenate the skin. Classical Microneedling is great to treat Acne, Melasma, Fine lines/Wrinkles, Hyperpigmentation, Scarring, Stretch Marks, and more.

Aquagold Microchanneling:

Aquagold devices utilize a 24 karat gold needle tip to deliver a custom made formulation of growth factors, serums, vitamin complexes, and Botox and Dermal Filler directly into the skin. Aquagold Microchanneling is a type of Microneedling treatment, but the primary difference is in the goals of treatment. Aquagold is well suited to deliver Botox and Filler into the skin itself to treat issues of skin hydration, very fine lines and wrinkles, and general skin quality.

Vampire Facial with Microneedling

Some clinics in the US refer to this procedure as the Vampire Facial. At Kitchener Waterloo Cosmetic Clinic we are able to harness growth factors directly from the patient’s blood and reintroduce those high-quality growth factors directly onto the skin. By microneedling we create micro channels for these growth factors to reabsorb and induce collagen and elastin at a high degree. This treatment combines the best parts of Classical Microneedling, with the healing effects of blood.

What to Expect with Microneedling Treatments?

Before treatment, your skin is cleansed and exfoliated. We apply a topical numbing cream for maximum comfort. Once your skin is numb, we apply Hyaluronic Acid Serum and other vitamin complex serums, growth factor serums, peptide serums, and other treatments directly to your skin. Using gentle pressure and traction we microneedle your skin to induce both collagen and elastin production. Post-treatment, we apply Peptide Serums, Hyaluronic Acid, and Vitamin Complexes to the skin for maximum skin rejuvenation. You should expect some redness for 12-24 hours post-treatment, and improved skin quality and glow within 7 days, with continued results over the next 2-3 months. We recommend an initial 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart, and then maintenance treatments every 3-6 months.

What is Microneedling and Blood Growth Factors?

Growth Factors, harnessed from your own blood can be combined with Microneedling to create the ultimate restorative skin treatment. Also call the Blood Treatment by some clinics in the United States, this treatment restores collagen, improves hyperpigmentation, age spots, acne scars, stretch marks, and can even be used for hair loss. Using Blood Growth Factors amplifies the effect of the microneedling treatment for maximum collagen induction and skin rejuvenation. Blood Growth Factors can be applied to any area with skin, but common areas of treatment include the face, neck, and chest.

Is Microneedling safe for my skin type?

Unlike laser treatments, microneedling does not induce any thermal (heat) damage. This makes it safe for any and all skin types! Dr. Dawood will review any and all concerns you may have and advise you accordingly at your consultation visit.

Microneedling and Hair Loss Restoration?

Combining microneedling with growth factors can also be used for hair regrowth and restoration. The hair follicle depends on its surrounding blood vessels for nutrients and growth factors. With age, blood vessels can become less effective in supplying the hair follicle. Improving blood supply with microneedling, and injections to the scalp can amplify and treat hair loss for some patients. Growth factors taken from the body’s blood can promote hair growth and improve overall hair quality. After several treatments, most patients report improved hair quality, thickness, and scalp fullness. Individual results may vary.

What are Microneedling treatments like?

Treatment is quick and comfortable like all other services at Kitchener Waterloo Cosmetic Clinic. Your treatment begins with a consultation with Dr. Dawood and staff. Your skin is cleansed and prepared with topical anesthetic to provide for a comfortable treatment. Afterwards, your skin is treated with serums and vitamin complexes, and several comfortable strokes of our microneedling device. Most patients are in the office for about an hour, with actual treatment time of less than 20 minutes.

How much does a Microneedling treatment cost?

Price depends on the areas treated, and current promotions. The most common area treated is the face, please contact us for up to date pricing. Common add-on areas are the neck, or chest. If you have stretch marks on your stomach, thighs, or other areas, we can build you a customized package of treatments! If you elect for Blood Growth Factors in combination with your microneedling, or Aquagold Microchanneling let us know!

What is Microneedling Recovery like?

Most patients return to regular activities immediately post procedure. You should expect some mild swelling, and redness post procedure, with redness fading in 12-24 hours. You should avoid working out for 24 hours, and avoid applying make up for a minimum of 6 hours! Full results will take up to 2 months, but you will notice improvement in skin quality within 7 days.  Repeat treatment is recommended every 4 weeks for 3 initial treatments, with repeat treatments thereafter every 3-6 months to maintain results!

How many Microneedling treatments are required?

Number of treatments varies. Slight glow and improvement in skin quality may occur after 1 treatment. To induce significant collagen induction 3-4 initial treatments are recommended, with ongoing treatment to help maintain results. This is not a one and done treatment, and results are NOT permanent. Remember, your body will still continue to age, and be subject to sun damage and the stresses of life with or without treatment.  Maintenance treatments are recommended every 3-6 months after your initial set of 3-4 treatments. Again, this is dependent on individual patient goals and skin quality and depends on the level of correction desired. Combining other treatments or therapies will change your treatment schedule. We find it best to build you a customized skin treatment package during your consultation!  For scars, usually 6 treatments are necessary to begin seeing results.

Are Results permanent?

Microneedling is amazing to replenish and restore your collagen! But just as collagen naturally declines, the stimulated collagen from microneedling treatments will too. That is why we recommend ongoing skin maintenance with microneedling, facials, peels, and other restorative treatments like botox and filler!

Are there any risks or side effects with Microneedling?

There are no major risks or side effects. We go over all risks and complications prior to procedure, however, this is a very safe treatment. If you are pregnant, have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scars, have had radiation treatment in the last year or have extremely severe forms of eczema, rosacea or psoriasis in the treatment area, or severe cystic acne, you should avoid microneedling.
